Data provenance
Know where the answer came from.
Marked preserves source context while turning exchange and issuer records into a consistent data layer.
Collection
Company masters, filings, disclosures, financial results, shareholding records, corporate actions and market observations are collected from official exchange, issuer and market-data channels. Marked does not invent missing values.
Normalization
Identifiers are resolved to canonical companies and securities. Financial line items are mapped to a consistent concept taxonomy while original labels, reporting basis, period and source references remain available.
Point-in-time behavior
Financial observations preserve when the record became knowable. Use as_of to exclude later filings and restatements from historical research or backtests.
Verification
- 01Inspect response metadata for the company, period, basis and retrieval time.
- 02Use the filing endpoint or provenance tool to locate the source record.
- 03Verify high-impact decisions against the authoritative exchange or issuer document.
Source records may be delayed, incomplete, amended or restated. Marked exposes provenance so your system can handle that reality explicitly.
